Direct answer

You can still calculate a three-pillar BaZi chart when birth time is unknown, but the Hour Pillar should remain explicitly uncertain. The Year, Month, and Day pillars can support a bounded reading; claims that depend on the Hour Pillar should be left open.

Read it in this order

Confirm the recorded date, place, historical time zone, and whether the time may fall near 23:00 or a solar-term boundary. Do not use a default hour to create a fictional Hour Pillar, hidden stems, or timing claim.

METHOD BOUNDARYZiheng uses the Li Chun year boundary, solar-term month boundaries, and a 23:00 late-Zi day change. True solar time, historical DST, and unknown birth time remain explicit.

From symbol to real life

Start with the three reliable pillars and compare a small number of possible Hour Pillars only as scenarios. If later records appear, recalculate rather than treating an earlier provisional reading as permanent.

What this cannot do

This method cannot guarantee wealth, health, legal, work, or relationship outcomes. It is for cultural reflection and planning questions; major decisions still require real evidence and qualified advice.

FAQ

Can I use BaZi if I do not know my birth time?

Yes. The Year, Month, and Day pillars can still support a bounded three-pillar reading. The Hour Pillar and any conclusion that depends on it should remain uncertain rather than being filled with a default time.

How does Ziheng handle disputed judgement?

Balance, climate, and structure evidence stay separate; a primary direction appears only when at least two lenses agree.
